Wild Halibut Steaks
Halibut are the largest of the flat fish and has a beautifully mild sweet tasting flesh with a firm but tender texture. It is a lean fish so beware of overcooking. Our fish is filleted, pin boned with skin-on and arrives individually vacuum packed.
Generally, our wild halibut will come from Scotland or Norway as they are fished from the North East Atlantic Ocean. As the fish can grow over 230kg (500lb) in weight and up to 2.4m (8ft) long they are portioned by experienced filleters/knifeman.
Halibut is not classed as oily fish yet it is a great source of essential Omega3 oils.

NOTE: Portions may vary according to the size of the fish caught on the day. Therefore the weight of your fish will be within + or - 10% of the ordered weights listed above.

STORAGE: Store below -18*c
NOTE: Do not refreeze after thawing
FOR BEST RESULTS DEFROST BEFORE COOKING
GRILL OR PAN FRY: 15 - 20 minutes turning occasionally on a medium heat.
OVEN COOK: 230*C for 10 - 15 mins or until it is opaque and the flesh flakes.
OVEN STEAMING: Place the fish in a foil parcel, add your desired liquid seasoning and place in the oven at 200*C for 15 - 20mins
